Beautifully written for both adults and children, this is a remarkable tale of adversity and hope. Imagination, ingenuity, and life.

I really enjoy this serious. For the writing, the mystery, the food, the elephant 😉 , and also for the intriguing history that Vaseem offers as a complement to the book. Brilliant and fascinating!
Within the first few chapters you’ve forgotten the outside world. your in a small town and feeling the frustration of a family that won’t help itself. Characters that will stay with you past the last chapter – and written with a wry sense of humour, readable in a single sitting!
Take some time, a corner of sunshine, a cup of tea and dip your toe into a world where ethics can apply to every decision. Another beautifully written chapter Isabel’s life, quietly striving not only to do the right thing, but the best in the circumstances.
Quirky, clever, instantly engaging – another wonderful tale from an incredible mind!
A fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable mystery, cloaked in magic and adventure – The Grotts thought it was brilliant!
It’s clever and amusing. A little mind twisty and fun… If you weren’t allowed to change anything – where in time would you go back to?
Again, thrown into the hot and chaotic, bustling world of Makana. Finding the bad guy, and exploring his moral compass, makes for another thrilling mystery – although with the added characters it felt a little less real and more “shoot ’em up and save the world” in style.
Brilliant, beautiful, and evocative without being effusive. This tore at my heart and placed me amongst the players. The lie, the fear, the truth and the pain.
It is so hard when everyone in the bookshop raves and raves about a title. The expectations become unattainable, except when you’ve got a tale like this. I’m saving it for a reread in Summer, because I’m certain there are more subtleties that I’ve missed. A great debut.
