Loved it from the first sentence. Quirky family relationships, real familial love, a murder mystery and a makeover… and that doesn’t even scratch this big hearted small town surface about belonging and how we think we’re perceived…
It’s just a sheer pleasure to read. The story, the history, the research, colours, scents, mystery and one of the most accurate descriptions of trying trying to climb a fence in a dress. Fantastic!
It was fascinating – the courage, wildness, the hostility of the islanders, I just feel that there is so much more there that went unsaid!
Easy to read with a gentle reminder, and wry humour, that we are all our own person, no matter what our age is, or where we are in life.
Winner of every possible award you can imagine, and it still won’t give anything away. Gritty, unforgiving and yet there’s hope – it’s a heck of a story written by a truly gifted storyteller!
It’s a wonderful series with a brilliant imagined world ad characters. Malamander may still be my favourite, but Shadowghast certainly holds its own.
A sad and exquisite tale of Gods, mortality and a battle for supremacy. I picked it off the shelf for it’s cover and was immediately swept away, burning the midnight hours until the book was completed, and yet the echos still remain.
It’s just lovely – start to finish. A beautiful, sad, uplifting story that I just adored!
Light and lovely with enough twists to take this Tassie Cosy Crime and place it amongst the most enjoyable of the genre!
